Dear friends

I finally got an admission for advanced standing program. I am very releived and happy. I just wanted to write a short note to everybody who have been trying to get in that if we beleive in ourselves and god nothing is impossible. when i started applying it seemed impossible that i would get an oppertuniy to study in the u.s. because my stats werent that great and i had a gpa{ece} below 3 but now the dream has come true. i was ready to give up many times but my faith is what drove me this point. i have had my share of rejections and waitlists but i am glad i kept trying. so to all those who are trying i wish you best of luck and good wishes

hey lavender congratulations on ur success....but just wondering if its for 2007 its too early to get admission and if its for 2006 its tooo late,,,just curious to know where u got admitted...

anyways bottom line is u got into it,,,,so buddy party hard👍

First of all congratulations. I would like to applaud your faith . I reserve the right to believe this:

"And Jesus said to him, 'If You can?' All things are possible to him who believes."
Mark 9:23

That being said , can you tell us your story , where you applied , where you got in and did not get in and what were your experiences in both .

Again good luck God bless - Bill

hi friends

thank you all for your wishes. i got a lot of pm's i may not be able to answer to each of you, so i thought i would write answers to all the questions here.

My journey has been a very hard, frustrating and enlightening one. i came to the US in mid 2003. I was overwhelmed when i started researching about the admission process. i was discouraged and took about 4 months to recover. then decided that i should take part 1{ prepared for 6 months }. My computer broke down during the exams and i could not answer a couple of DA questions. The 2 months was as struggle trying to get my score from ADA cuz they could not locate my exam on comp. well by gods grace i got 89% {miracle number 1}. I took my part 2 in 4 months after that. toefl 273. ece 2.94, wes 3.6, worked as a dental assitant for a bipolar dentist for 8 months. the most difficult time for me was this. I left the job because it got too stressful for me.

For me all this was challenging because i was moving to a new state every 3 months. I had no family or close friends to share my frustations but for my husband. He is the reason i am still sane and happy

after long waiting i got called to a couple of colleges, got waitlisted in upenn, boston, minnesota, but not one acceptance in 2006. By this time i was compeltely discouraged and i thought of giving up. My thinking was completely negative. Most my friends and classmates had already gotten into programs and i was left with not even an interview call. I thought this was the end and i would not study in U.s. For a while i thought not being able to study here was like the end of world for me.

I had to retake my toefl by now which i took and got a score of116/120

The most important moment of my life i could say was when i changed my negative thinking and started beleving that everything happens for a reason. The reason i did not get in all those places was that there was something better for me. It was very difficult change for me. I have gone thru a lot of painful days thinking constantly how to become normal again as getting into school had taken over my life.

My story is same as a lot of you. My advise is...no matter what happens do not lose faith in yourself. The strong beleif that if we keep trying and improving ourselves, our goals will be acheived. Positive thinking is the most important. ....I know all this sounds repetitive but it worked for me.

finally to answer the most asked question. i was accepted in UIC college of dentistry{miracle no 2}. i hope i have answered most of the questions asked.

My heartiest wishes to all of you who are still trying.
