I'll admit I made a derrogative comment about BMEs. I take it back (I did in a different post).

That being said, I think it's stupid and pointless to argue about who's major is better than who's. If you get accepted, you've worked damn hard, and an adcom aknowledged that (or you're a really smart slacker).

If you don't get accepted, ask for an exit interview, and ask why.

If you never got any interviews anywhere.....I'm sorry. I won't say try a DO school, because DOs are just as competent physicans as MDs. To imply that they take sub par applicants is ludacris. Perhaps they have a different way of looking at the applicants, but if someone gets accepted to a DO school, THEY ARE STILL IN MEDICAL SCHOOL. I will say retake the MCAT, try to get at least a 30, try to take a few more undergrad classes (and rock them).

As for all of you IV league pricks (my 3.2 from Haavaard is better than your 3.85 from BFE State), I don't give a damn (nor would I if I was on an Adcom). I go to med school with people from Hopkins, Vanderbuilt, and Utah State. They're all equally competent.

Many posters have said it, and I'll echo their sentiments: Take an Undergrad that you want to. Something you'll enjoy.

I'm a ChemE, and I think they rock, but I did NOT take it to impress an Adcom.

That's it. Peace out. Good luck to all you applicants.

, but I always thought that there was that whole grade inflation issue at the Ivy leagues. As you know, there are many powerful parents sending their kids to Ivy League schools. They don't want to pay 40 grand to see their kids getting B's and C's. Of course most IV league students are very smart, and many of them deserve straight A's. It's just something to keep in mind. An Ivy League A might not be as impressive as it appears.

:luck:

Besides, I'd rather go to an I league school or at least a II league than an IV League. Fourth-tier bullsh** slacker kids, those IV Leaguers.

True. My bad. But I'm tired of people saying their major, or that their ivy league (from IV, the fact that there were FOUR original schools) degree is worth more than something else. I'm also tired of people saying DOs are worse than MDs. Maybe I should have named the thread "My Grip". Sorry if I offended anybody. Btw, not everybody who goes to an ivy league school would be a "ivy league prick", just the pricks who think that it somehow makes them special.

For those of you who want to put more 😴 's. Don't reply. I'll let this thread die.

Are there people out there that actually care and debate this kind of stuff?

No wonder pre-meds get a bad rep.
