hey guys..i took the test last week and i thought i would share some stuff with u..

well..ill start from the end.. i think i didnt do well..not that im trying to lower my expectation but i really felt that i could do so much better..
the first part was much more difficult than the 2nd part..
maybe i was nervous or shocked but it seems to me that the first 200 were more challenging as whole..

i used the kaplan lecture note,the first aid and decks..
also did kaplan q bank and realsed exams..1998 and 2004 i think,,

IMO dont get near to kaplan q bank.. the question there are not even close to the real exam..
im angry at myself for spending to much time stuying for micro instead of DA.1 of the reasons i did that was the kaplan q bank..the question there especiallz in anatomy and micro are weird difficult and not in the scope for the exam.

I think kaplan lect notes is a good book.do the anatomy from there together with first aid.after u done reading go to the decks and than do 100 question from 1998.this will cover u 100%

biochem..nbdefirst aid is not enough,,i used to kaplan and lipincot for some topics..the question of biochem werent diificult imo,,

physiology...i read the BRS..was too much..read kaplan and decks..first aid was poor in content..

patho and micro..well i wrote about micro..i spend to muxh time on that one..i think decks and kaplan are ok.. dobt get into too much detais..focus and strep and staph...
pathology was easy i think..kaplan and decks should be enogh..
again like i said in atamoy...read the book.do decks.100 q of 1998..

what can i say..my biggest mistake..1 day before the exam i only read micro instead of going agian on tooth morphology..
i think DA is the most challenging..
kaplan decks and first aid are really good.. i reallz liked first aid..kaplan tends to smudge the material..
u have to memorize everything,,
dont study each tooth indvidualy but know how to diffrentiate it from other teeth (espcially premolars)

well if u have question write it here and ill answer,,i think only tomorrow cause im using a libray computer..

this is the worse period when u r after the exam.. u keep on thinking on the questions that u didnt know..and sometime u feel u did well and somtime u feel the opposite..
i dont think i passed the 90 not even 87..i lost too many question on DA( I didnt have time the repeat the material) but who knows..

Hey Sinatra,

Congrats for getting over the exam. Overall your experience looks good..coz you say your DA didnt go that well...i guess rest of the subjects keep you covered...
I think you would get a really really good score...whenever you answered any questions on the forum...u did them with good explanation...

one day before the exam u must just relax...so dont worry,u didnt do any mistake by revising one thing n leaving the other.u will get a good score...all the best👍

Heres wat I want to tell you.Buddy i can totally identify with your experience....also,let me assure one thing...your version of paper was extremely difficult.I know this because i got the exact same one, when i read what you wrote I agreed with everthing. And i had prepared well.I know that.And guess what, i Revised Da B4 the exam and felt thst DA was very very confusing...The reason:Because it was!!!The questions were so prostho oriented and i foind myself woundering most of the time if i actually thought Da was my strongest card.Not only that , my first 200 qs were really difficult too and I knew after i got out of the exam centre that i will have to come here again!When i asked my friends how their exam was they said it was all decks. I thought i will get atleast 85 and i got 83.
Dont worry.....you were the one who always answered qs on sdn and i m sure u will do well! but remeber , You really did have it tought, so dont doubt ur ability to get an amazing score.I initially did, but now that i am retaking and discussing qs with students studying with me, i realised i know quite a lot and i dont deserve what i got!but u know wat..thas ok..coz thats life and u have to face it!some get it easier and some have to strive..but in the end, if u are sincere and work hard..nothing can stop you from achieving your goals!Nobody said this was gong to be easy, they just said it was going to be worth it.
so buddy, You will be there.

I do not think DA is going to harm your score all by itself. You have been a pro in answering the questions in this forum so I am expecting you to pull off a good score. Don't fret over what's done. You gave it your best and you did best u could given the circumstance. I think you deserve some self indulgence so if you have a high class cigar or a bottle of vintage alcohol, raise one to yourself. cheers.

tnx alot for the best wishes..it really made me feel better..now it is up to god's hands..🙂
i didnt expect it to be easy..however i was hoping i will be " in a zone" which btw i was in the 2nd part..
when u take 400 q exam it is important to be confident and get into the rythem..well i hope u know what i mean.
things i would do different:
more DA(which from the beginning i knew was my weakest part)
do not pay/do kaplan q bank!!
more released papers!
dont be nervous about micro..very few q's and mainly streps
extra focus on antomy (histology and gross)
i know people who got high scores wrote that they use usmle books or "big books" im not coming to argur with success but imo dental decks+kaplan lec nots+released papers are the key for success.

the exam is not that difficult that is why i feel a bit like i blew it..
btw..time was sufficent..

hey..
first of all what i write here is just my opinion..remember that there on sdn other threads of people who scored above 90 who studied diffrently..i dont think ill get this score but who knows..

as i said..there is no need to go for usmle books..
kaplan lect notes is more than enogh.
the exam doesnt require deep understanding and epidemolgy regarding micro.
ill give u an example..
in usmle first aid there is a table of main pathogen for UTI,meningitis etc for every age group.u dont need to know that.
focus in the basic.morphology of bacterias,pathogens and disease with oral manifestation like herpes virus.
know HBV and serology test..hiv etc..dont focus to disnguish all the bacteria in the enterbacteriae family (like to DD shigella and v.cholera )
pathology.know agian the basic and less systmic pathology.
like more to DD types of necrosis,acute vs chronic etc..more general stuff..
i think that they went into details only in DA and anatomy.
still..be efficent dont go to other text books..even q's that i didnt remember the ans or wasnt sure..everything was written in kaplan and nbde first aid.
kaplan lect note is very good..nbde first aid is excellent for DA-histology and eruptions..
the decks are great! i realized it only afterwords..during my preparation i thought it wasnt enogh..but now after taking the exam i know it was a good source..
