:scared: 🙁 I am going to be crazy, i hope someone would kindly enough to guide me out of this hell-hole. I am a US citizen who happened to study and graduate in foreign dental school in Philippine. I passed the part 1 exam in 2003 but only average of 79 and Tofel 240, GPA 2.5 or 2.6 (i forgot). I took the part 2 in 2005 but because of my careless action, i accidentally answered my cell phone call and open my notes during the lunch and was caught. As the result, i had a time out for a full year not being able to take the NDBE. I used all my results and applied some school such as columbia, UIC, BUFFALO, STONY BROOK,NYU, Marquette, but already got two rejection letters. I am so depress, dont know what to do. I am currently in Southern California, studying for part 2 exam for this year sept. and also hopefully able to find a work as a assistant. I think clinical experience is really important for the people who want to apply, not to mention also the score with gpa. I am starting this Thread because 1 i hope some people here would be kind enough to help me thru this, 2ed I hope if anyone who knows any clinic who needed assistant would kindly contact here in this forum. I really wish everyone could get into the school of their dream and never give up like my friend told me. Hope to heard anyone soon...THANKS TO YOU ALL and GOOD LUCK :luck:

i agree with prady..u should be concentrating on improving ur part 1 score rather than preparing for part 2.
Being a US citizen is a plus but the competition is sooo high, if u dont have a good score, it will be very difficult to join the advance standing program.
Good luck!

yes,...I agree. Score of 79% in NBDE part I will not land u anywhere. maybe u should try taking part I and improving the score rather than preparing for part II. most universities prefer students with high part I scores and prefer students who have passed part II. good luck to u. dont get discouraged. I have had a lot of friends who discourage me into doing this and advise me to do some computer course, which is worse.

good luck 🙂

Hy,
Study hard for part 1 n give it again thats the only way to go.
Best of luck

As far as talking or opening a book is concerned it should not be done in examination room but if you are out side of exam room say waiting area you are in lunch break, is it undersirable to revise a book?this is what i am not clear as you know in 2 session you have micro & DA so naturally some people revise a bit.what NBDE rules say about it?lunch break , I think is ,personal time for refreshment is`nt it ?

I think, and I am not too sure, but the rule is that you cannot read any reading material or communicate with any one once you have started the exam. This applies from the moment you start till you finish the entire exam, even the break.

The best thing to do is to ask the person in charge there before you start the exam to avoid any problems.

I found something on ADA web sit :

An irregularity is defined as a situation in which an examination fails to measure the ability of a candidate. Evidence of an irregularity may be in the form of a report from a test administrator or proctor in the form of a statistically detected similarity in answer patterns of two candidates. Potential reasons for failure to measure the ability of an examinee may include, but not be limited to, communication between or among examinees, or inappropriate or unauthorized access to exam content, or disruptions of test administration including natural disasters and other emergencies.

If a candidate finds testing facilities too crowded or poorly arranged to protect his or her answers, the candidate should immediately register a complaint with the test administrator. If corrective action is not taken immediately, the candidate is urged to register a complaint in writing with the Department of Testing Services immediately following completion of the examination. Also, candidates should record any unresolved problem after the last testing session in the appropriate section of the post-examination survey.
