Just having some thoughts with one week left. I'm finished with QBank as of today, and have my exam next Sat. I thought about buying UW and trying to hammer as much of it in the next week as is possible, with a fast review of the last few weak areas every afternoon. Does anyone think one week of UW would be worth $70?

*Edit - changed title of thread to reflect my question: whether doing a fresh question bank would be better than reviewing as much of Kaplan QBank as I can in the same amount of time.

I found UW to be more like NBME type questions.

tough question -

IMHO - any one UWorld question is worth 5 from any other source - I've just learned so much from the bank, and love the explanations/diagrams...

If you have the money, I would buy it - or maybe extend a friends subscription for the week (extension of an existing account is only $25 for a week)

If you can't do the cheaper extension, I would suggest just reading and re-reading FA - never can go wrong just reading - maybe have a partner to go back and forth firing off questions - and you have already exhausted a qbank - so your experience with questions/timing should be solid...

tough call...

I think uworld is worth it, even if just for the explanations. Much more intricate and multifaceted than kaplan.

I have a simular question. Im taking it next friday. My UW runs out sunday and Ive only done 25% so far (I could prob get to 40% by sunday). should I renue it and hammer out another 2 days, or should I do 2 of the Nbme test and try to figure out the ones I missed? Any Input.

USMLE World is a lot harder than COMLEX. USMLE World has a lot more detail, which is a good learning tool. Honestly, I would say if you NEED questions than go for it, but if you have other sources stick to what you have. I recommend 2 days before perform a full run through on First Aid to refresh the brain and then head in and rock the exam.

I still have a huge amount of the Kaplan IV vignette qbank, but I score high 70's low 80's on those, 50 questions timed.

Have you (or anyone) already done QBank with Kaplan? I have seen other people writing about doing Kaplan and getting in the 60's then jumping way into 70's with UW. That would be very encouraging to say the least, plus it would feel legit when I haven't seen their questions.

Update: Broke down and bought UW just because I felt fresh questions I could take timed would be better than a path book or redoing kaplan q's I know the answer to by virtue of seeing it before.

Did pretty good for the first 50 random timed, but am going to hold my tongue until I do about 200-300 q's
