I have an interview there in two weeks. Now my question is this: I live about 1 hour and 50 minutes away from their school and I was told to be there at 10:30 am (my interview is at 2 pm though). So do you guys think it is better for me to get there the night before and stay in a hotel, or drive there in the morning of my interview? My parents tell me that it is better to get there the day before, but I think if I leave my house at 7:30 am on the day of the interview, I should be on time. This gives me an extra hour in case I have trouble finding the right bulidings, and I can also change to get into my suit. I get to save about $50.😀 I dont think it would be difficult to drive around in Hershey as it seems to be a very small place. 😎

Definitely save your money. There are only a few roads to navigate in the Hershey area because it is in fact a very small town. Watch out for Harrisburg though. Traffic can be bad around that area.

Give yourself plenty of time before 10:30 am so that you don't get too flustered if you are running behind. Other than that, Penn State's interview day was a piece of cake 😉

I interviewed there recently and the first presentation isn't until about 11:15am, I guess they tell you to be there at 10:30 to be safe. Drive the morning of, you'll have plenty of time.

My .02 cents...drive the night before and stay in a hotel. You can drive around the school and figure out exactly where you are going, which makes things that much easier the day of the interview. You can have everything planned out and something could go wrong during your drive the day of and that will just stress you out. Expect the unexpected and you will be fine.

It's so easy to navigate in Hershey, parking at the medical center is easy, and the admissions office is very easy to find. It is on the ground floor, just inside the door of the Biomedical Research Building. This building is around the back of the medical center, stands out well, is clearly marked. Piece 'o cake, and this from a directionally maladroit person. I would go the morning of your interview. Go early in case of weird traffic problems along the way to Hershey, but save your money.

I would go the same day if $50 really makes a difference. Its not hard to navigate around Hershey, you can't come into town from the east or west and miss the med center, and although the hospital is big, its not hard to find the medical school.

That said, if you are coming from Philly, the traffic can be bad during the week and you might have some slow downs, so I wouldn't leave any later than 0730.
