i took my step 1 dates just today
its on 6th may 2009
my preps till now
kaplan notes 2006-07 ed
pathology
pharmacology
behavioral sciences
microbiology(excluding immunology)
for immunology i did roitt's essentials of immunology mcqs and free lectures available on its site
anatomy biochem and physio still pending
MCQ's completed from
pretest pathology pharmacology microbiology and immunology
also kaplan question bank 2007 edition
i know i have much to complete and much on stake
i will be sharing my preperation stratagies and ways with you till the exam
feel free to comment and be my honored guest for ur gr8 and valuable advices
my ultimate aim is to be able to get my ecfmg certificate by the end of september or october this year so that i may be able to take part in the match this year it self

oh yes i forgot to add a few things
about pathology i also completed robbins review first editoin some 700 questions
i tried going through goljan but it was out of my reach
i was unable to cope up with it so held it back

i would suggest you go to prep4usmle.com. Most people here are US grads and thus have a different method of preparation

I think BRS Behav was really helpful if you're having trouble there. It's probably too much for Step 1, but it explains stuff well and has good scenarios.

worst day today
didnt do much today just completed carbohydrate and 1/2 lipid metabolism kaplan biochem
it is really sickening me now i am panicking will i be able to revise any thing

I read the whole BRS Behav in abt a week, and I wasn't studying all day, I had my regular classes at the same time too. But if you feel like you cant read all it, see which topics you have trouble with (ethics, child development, drugs/overdose, etc) and maybe just read them. Behav is a pretty easy place to score some good points, so I think it's worth the time. Good luck, and don't lose faith.

You are doing fine. dont worry. for microbio and immuno, I would highly recommend FA, please check it out if you have one.

without FA it is worthless to read anything else

i completed hematology lectures yesterday from goljan and it turned out that i knw almost every thing he was talking about just needed some good revision on it
so will be doing it again and again
also read some 4 chapters from biochemistry genetics

today i am thinking of completing the biochemistry and moving on to solve the kaplan q- bank for it

Yeah i finished all of genetics...it was easy. Today I will go thru Kaplan cardiovascular section, along with corresponding sections in BRS physio and Goljan RR Path, and FA for that system. Maybe some questions at night if i got any enrgy left.🙄

Yeah do not feel bad, I had a bad study day yesterday too. Almost did nothing. I hope today to get all of cardio kaplan physio as well as brs cardio pysio and maybe some q-bank.

I am so stressed...all I have is 79 days left to study...🙁

Well today I finished kaplan cardio physiology 1st run and then did some questions ~70 on cardio physio...am going to start kaplan cardio path tonight for an hour 1st run thru...

tomarrow plan is to do rest of physio cardio qbank (~50Q) and then finish kaplan cardio path 1st run thru and do cardio path q's (~50)....

BTW I need more time than you as I plan on reading all of kaplan 3X as well as RR path and Brs physio 3X each.....so I am freaked!!

hey i have curling's ulcer only it is caused by stress
cushing's is caused by head injury
in btw i completed my physiology and am on anatomy
probably by tonight i will be done with this and will take my subscription for UW and start doing that along with revision
and dont worry
if u complete kaplan once it is far more easier to to do it again and again

i am on 79th percentile and 71 % as of cumulative performance today till now
i am almost done with patho in it
after that i am planning to revise through first aid and medessentials kaplan
plz tell hw am i doing in this

Medessentials is the HY version of Kaplan lecture notes. They literally use the same exact charts & diagrams from the lecture notes. It doesn't go into much explanation b/c the majority of the book is diagrams and boxes. If you have the videos it's less intimidating to follow along with medessentials than 7 books of lecture notes.

Do you think you can get quite a good mark with medessentials only, without FA? For those who have already used it, do you think its better than FA and would you recommend someone to buy it? I keep on hearing good things about it, yet no one here, is ready to testify!!!
