RC 17---🙁
BIO 21---95.5
GCHEM 21--91.6
OCHEM 20---84.4
TS 21---96.2
AA 20---93.4

I know I didn't get a 23, but I'm still very happy!!! I'm going to wake up tomorrow and not know what to do! Been studying for too long, lol. Maybe I'll get a head start with NBDE PART1! Oh, boyyyy...

Good luck to those who are studying for the DAT! Don't ever give up!

GREAT Job!! I am taking mine tomorrow:0( And, I am sooo worried about my RC score as well. I can't seem to get above a 20 on practice tests. IS is really that bad? Also, how is PAT in comparison to like CDP (if you used it) and QR?

Great job!! I can't wait to be done as long as my scores are ok:0)

great job! im getting ready to take mine! how was the bio section? was there alot of ecology questions? i took the dat before and it seemed to have a lot of those questions. as for the ochem there were mainly hnmr questions, rarely any sn1/sn2 rxns...

was ur exam typical or more of the one that i had?

Great job, embrace your freedom and make a point to do something ridiculously random. You can never complain when scoring above the 90th percentile. 🙂 Good luck and when you are done celebrating, write a breakdown for us all.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for the late reply...I have been catching up on sleep and busy faxing my unofficial scores! Bracedoc you are probably taking the test as I'm writing this and I am cheering you on!!! For the breakdown:

Bio: Read the question and select the first answer you think is correct, then MOVE ON! Don't read too deep into any of the questions. Just know the basics and you will be fine. Kaplan and Barron's AP Biology (comes with a disc of practice questions, so you can practice on the computer) is highly recommended.

Gen Chem: Really caught me off guard. I thought it was really easy, so I don't really know what happened. Kaplan is more than sufficient. Not too many calculations either.

O Chem: Again, Kaplan is more than enough. Make sure you have a strong understanding on mechanisms!

PAT: I'm shocked! I normally score around 23 on CDP. The hole punching was weird at times, so I actually had to slow down to figure out the right answer. Every other section was pretty straight forward. Beware of cube counting! I don't feel comfortable saying why, but just be careful.

Reading: I really have no comment 😡 I'm still really upset over my 17. On CDR I was scoring no lower than a 20. I guess I was really tired at this point and really really just wanted to go on to QR.

QR: YAY! For some, a 19 would be considered low, BUT I'M SO HAPPY!! Please time yourself and skip around questions. Some of the word problems are easy, but time consuming so you can always MARK and come back to it later. I highly recommend DESTROYER MATH! You just have to get it.

IMPORTANT ADVICE: Everyone told me to just relax the day before the test, but I DIDN'T LISTEN because I was in panic mode. I studied and woke up ealy to study, lol. I was sooo tired before my test and ended up splashing cold water in my face for about 10 minutes. GET SLEEP BEFORE THE TEST BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED IT! IT'S A REALLY LONG TEST TO BE TIRED FOR! Also, test out the markers they give you as soon as they hand them over. I did trade one thick marker for one with a finer tip! Remember to keep them capped, it sounds simple but you can forget when you are racing against the clock. One of mine did dry out! Make sure you screen is bright enough and if not ask to have it brighter right away! I was a real annoying test taker, LOL. For break, drink/ eat fruit quick and review last min formulas for QR (ie conversion factors, sin, cos, tan functions, and special triangles) I did use the calculator and it worked fine. Just make sure when you input that the number actually shows up. During the tutorial before the test, you can play with it. Just get the hang of it and you will see what I mean. I was so tired, so yes I got lazy with the multiplication and division. One last tip, when I was in a hurry to answer questions, I realized even when I did select an answer, it wasn't marked!! Make sure every questions you answer has the answer!

Good luck and see you in dental school!!! 😀

WHat were you scoring on kaplan gen chem?? Im getting 18's and 19's and freaking out!! My test is feb 5th.

My scores on Kaplan were very similar. Don't stress, just make sure you understand your mistakes. You will find the DAT to be easier. Hope that comforts you a bit and good luck!
