I might be having a gap year coming up. I need to find something to do to improve my app. apparently

I applied with a 3.85/3.81 overall and science GPA this cycle with a 21/21/18 DAT. 3 rejections so far and 1 pending (LECOM.)

Ill complete my bachelors this year with about a 3.5-3.6 gpa and same DAT score. I had 2 semesters worth of work since I applied that dropped my GPA.

What should I do? My EC's are kind of average. I only applied to 4 schools this cycle but will probably apply to 8+ next time.

I am interested in doing some private religious/language study and taking a break for at least the summer.

Any input would be helpful thanks!

Your stats are fine. Up your ECs/clinical exposure, re-read your personal statement, think about the quality of your LORs, apply early and broadly.

Your GPA and DAT are good, I wouldn't worry about those. I would really step up your ECs, double check your PS, and practice your interview skills. You already attended a few interviews, so you should have a good idea of how they work. There's a thread here somewhere of most common interview questions. I'd work through that and add on any additional questions you were asked.

Since you still have your LECOM interview coming up, I would give it everything I have. I'm sure you already know, but it's 6 people to 2 faculty members. I personally answered a couple of questions first, in the middle, and one last. I also made sure my body language showed that I was interested in what everyone else was saying (even though this is the interview where a guy said he was a Brony). It's very relaxed so try not to stress. I know some people here like to bash LECOM, but I was ready to attend there until I got my other acceptances, so I liked it.

Feel free to PM if you have more questions about LECOM. Good luck!

You're so lucky you got to witness that! I often wonder how the interviewers would react

They had blank stares so he started to give us a mini info session on what it means to be a Brony and how he discovered the TV show. I eventually interrupted, apologized for interrupting, and then answered the question so we could keep moving.

I felt embarrassed for him.

You know that feeling when you hear an embarrassing story, and then for some reason you also start to feel embarrassed? Yeah it's happening.
