YO Wuz-up?
Well, today was just another day, I have my finals next week and then it's a full week of relaxing my brain (if I don't hurt it with etOH)! Today, Temple voted on my application for admissions, I wondered how it went? This waiting does truley suck!
I call UOP yesterday and put Kristin, the admissions coordinator on the spot about my application! She's always telling me, it's in review, it's in review, I told her that, listen, I really need to find out if I'm qualified for an interview or not, even if I'm not, just tell me. I really don't feel like waiting anymore! So she tells me that I should find out next week in the mail, if not, give her a call and she will tell me on the phone if I will visit UOP or not.
Speaking of applications, all my other ones are still in review as well!
NYU, Columbia, Tufts, BU, UDMercy, and UPenn
Well, to be honest, I have already lost interests in NYU, Columbia, and UPenn already at this time! Even if I'm invited for an interview at these schools, I might decline.
NYU because I've heard many negative things such as too crowded labs, people fail, and a pricy tag
Columbia because the profs treat you like crap, small class, and faculty and staff treat MD students first class there
UPenn because after my Temple interview, Temple is the only school that I will go to if I do decide to go to Pennsylvania for my dental education. UPenn, all this talk about, oooohhhhhh it's IVY, oohhh tons of students get placed for specialty. I tell you what people, student get placed because of their academic acheivements and not because of the school that they attend. Two reasons, in my opinion, why UPenn has success in placing many of their students in specialties, ONE, it's research based dental school, TWO, it's has a strong basic science emphasis in their curriculum => good board scores!
Their clinical exposure and training DOESN'T even come close to training offered at Temple! Why do Temple students get placed in specialty? STRONG clinical training with confidence and competent skills to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral diseases (obviously you need awesome board scores and some research as well to boost your dental education resume)!
Alright, enough of check-in for me this Wednesday!
