Okay I think I ran into a problem...I had my transcript evaluated by WES. I sent them my transcript, AND a course-by-course description, so that they knew which courses were lab and which were not. Now I get my evaluation report, and half year courses were 3.0 and full year were 6.0, REGARDLESS if they had a lab component or not. Is this normal, or?😕

Thanks

This is ridiculous. These lab courses, which are either 4.0 or 8.0 (depending if full or half year) count towards for pre-reqs. Now it looks like I dont have 8.0 physics requirement, even though I took 2 half year lab physics courses - same goes with orgo and general chem. Man oh man... what do I do? They are closed for the weekend and the applications process opens soon...

I don't really understand your post completely. I think you would have more replies if your post were more clear.

They convert my classes into the proper US semester hours. They converted half year courses without a lab, and those with a lab, into the same number of US semester hours. They also did this for full year classes. Thus, my full year bio course w/ lab is marked as 6; the same as any other full year course.

AZCOM and MSU will understand. I had to explain the situation to KCUMB and Western--its happened before. Don't worry about it to much. You might have to send course descriptions to the schools.

Don't freak out.

I talked to AACOMAS regarding the same issue and they know about the problem. I was told to just put down exactly what was shown in my transcript and let the schools know about the lab component later. By 'later', I'm assuming when the schools inquire me about it...

Okay. If a course has a lab component, I just put "X course and Lab" on my application, is that okay?. So I should just let the schools know that WES screwed up and didn't take my lab components into account? As I said I was just worried because they require 8.0 physics and orgo and general chem, which I have, but WES showed it as 6.0.

Thanks guys

Yeah, that's what I did and was confirmed that it's fine to note "+lab" as part of the course name.

Ya know it might not be a bad idea to contact the admissions department directly at a few schools you're interested in just to make sure they don't label your app as incomplete waiting on you to "finish your lab."

Good luck
