So back on august 26th 2005 I mailed tulane my secondary application. And i never heard back from them, the hurricane hit a week after I mailed it, i figured it was lost, but I didn't know. I still got the occasional correspondance, so i figured instead, they don't want me.

YESTERDAY!! I got my secondary back in the mail. the JUSt received it on April 26 2006. now that's missing mail! Because of the hurricaine it did get lost, and they just got it. They were very nice and gave me back my secondary fee, because the interview season and Jan 15th deadline was well over.

Anyone else have strange mail stories! I have two. This one, and the rejection I received from USC med school three weeks ago. Its strange because i NEVER applied to USC. not even on my amcas. 🙂

This isn't really a strange mail story, but related to Tulane. I received their secondary about two weeks prior to Katrina and was getting ready to submit when all hell broke loose down there. Tulane SOM, no thanks.

As for strange occurrences, a LOR from a physician I don't even know somehow ended up in my file for Maryland. Things got even weirder when I tried to find out who this person was and discovered she lived not too far from my folks in western MD. But my parents had no idea who she was either.

Must have been an odd coincidence.

Tulane seems to have lost everything EXCEPT my check. That they found, and cashed. I never heard anything else. Maybe they could just stamp "rejected" on the back of the check when they endorse it. At least then I would have had a final decision from them.

happened to some one I know here who applied too,...for $95 you could at least send a letter, email, pigeon carrier, SOMETHING

however, even interviewing didn't warrant a letter, just the subtle we'll ignore you so when you call we can say, oh class is full, apply next year 🙄

Maybe you can use it as a tax write-off for hurricane relief.

actually, no tax write off necessary. they mailed me back my check!!! (then again they did get it a week ago)
