In terms of the math on the NAPLEX, is there a good rule of thumb for using actual body weight, IBW or AdjBW? I feel like the prep books do not provide a good answer for that!

Thanks in advance!

If IBW is less than ABW then use IBW.
If ABW is less than IBW then use ABW.
If ABW is 25-30% more than IBW then use AdjBW.

Hope this is a good answer.

I took it last week and passed. All my math type CrCl problems stated which weight to use. In the case-based problems, it was obvious if the pt was overweight or not. For example: the question would ask if the dose is correct of a specific drug in the case - one you should know about dose reducing in low CrCl.

Congratulations! I am super nervous about taking my exam, its coming up in a couple weeks- may I ask how you prepared? Math is definitely my weak spot. I am taking 2-3 weeks off life basically to just prepare for this exam- since it's difficulty has increase this go around. Any tips would be much appreciated
