NAVLE past December

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sure did.
Can you please inform me of how it was like and what topics were the questions about? I will be taking it next April and it's quite expensive here so I won't afford to retake it.

It was long and exhausting and asked questions on topics my brain hadn't even considered since maybe that one lecture period that we briefly discussed it. The topics were on veterinary medicine... I'm really not sure what more I can tell you other than to perhaps try Zuku or VetPrep or look up more information about the test in general here https://www.icva.net/.

Have you took vet prep or zuku? and did it help in the exam?

I did vet prep. I think it helped better than no preparation for the exam, but whether or not it specifically helped is still up in the air. Haven't found out if I passed or not yet so... hopefully it helped?

I did vet prep as well. General consensus among my class was that either one worked about as effectively - as long as you put sufficient effort into it.

Other than being a student, that was my only preparation for the exam. I did a lot of vet prep questions, watched all of the vet prep short videos, and read all the power pages.

I did do Zuku's question-of-the-day all the way through vet school. I think Zuku's questions were slightly more similar to NAVLE.

 And I thought the opposite.

But really, as LIS said, the consensus was that it didn't matter which you did. Both VetPrep and Zuku will prepare you, if you take the time to really study them.

I personally felt like most of the questions I definitely knew the answer to were from things I learned in clinics, not the prep course. I'm a little suspicious that the whole VetPrep/Zuku thing is a bit of a waste of money, honestly.

And neither of them REALLY have questions that are truly like NAVLE.

You're probably a better student, then. I got through the exotic, porcine, bovine, and poultry questions ONLY by virtue of VetPrep. It's not that my school didn't teach me, it's just that I was that bad student who couldn't really get myself to commit to learning about swine when I knew I truly didn't care about swine. I don't treat horses, either, but I think they're cool 'nuff, and I have friends with horses, that I paid attention a little bit to equine medicine.

But yeah, for the cat/dog stuff ... VetPrep didn't teach me anything I didn't already know.

Has anyone on here tried actual Zuku recently? They're having a sale now and I've like their question-of-the-day, but I'm not sure how the full program works.

Looks like VetPrep is doing a similar sale in about a week. What was the VetPrep course like?

I took the Zuku for the BCSE coz there was no Vetprep for it, it helped me with nearly half of the exam.
Now I'm doing Vetprep for the NAVLE and I have to say I liked it a whloe lot more their questions are better explained and their power pages are much better than Zuku notes which looked quite confusing to me

I used Zuku, completed about 40% of it. I passed pretty comfortably, and I think there's a reasonable chance I would have even without the test prep. I definitely would not buy the Premium edition again, as I got almost no use out of any of the extra features.

I've seen better results with students who use Vetprep over Zuku FWIW.

I also preferred the format of the vetprep questions.
