I love that white Navy uniform.

Looks nice nearly impossible to keep clean; especially the shoes. If you like lots of uniforms the Navy is the place for you. As for what uniforms a dentist wears: usually scrubs at work, and same uniforms as any other officer at other times (khakis, blues, whites, Navy working uniform, etc) Seems like they add a new one every time I turn around plus there are more changes on the horizon. Best thing to do is Google Naval officer uniforms and check them out for yourself.

Either way, if famous movies are any indication (and I hope they are, since I base many of my romantic expectations on song lyrics and blockbuster movies) girls can't resist a man in uniform.

😀

Army wears scrubs at work and the camaflouge (http//military.plainfacts.net/wp-content/photos/acu.jpg) anytime you are not in the clinic. Only occasionally will you wear anything more formal (http//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ea/US-NEW-CLASS-A-UNIFORM.png) (going to conferences, etc...)
your links don't work

isn't the navy getting rid of the whites, and going back to the khakis? i love the army blues...

The Navy is keeping both the white and blue dress uniforms and adding a jacket to the khaki service uniform to make a third dress uniform option. The Army is nice, but the Navy has the best uniforms hands down. Air Force uniforms look make them look like bus drivers or airline pilots.

That also means you will have to buy 3 different dress uniforms with the Navy. They do not issue them to you free of charge.

Yes, I know. When I said that the Navy had the best uniforms, I meant the best looking. I don't mind paying more to look good. 😀

thanx for your opinion, dude.

(Navy) - I would expect a proper seabag to run you on the north side of a thousand bucks.

Breakdown from the NEX (Navy Exchange website)
1 Set SDBs:
Jacket-237
Pants-67.50
Shirt-26
Cover-50
Poly-Wool Khakis (DO NOT BUY CNT!!!!)...and recommend TWO sets, price is per set...
Shirt-46.25
Pants-66.50
Cover-15.50
Black shoes-59
PT Gear (only need for Physical testing)
Shorts-24.99
Shirt-24.99
Summer Whites - 1 set
Computer locked up, but expect 100 bucks for shirt and pants
White shoes-78
Outerwear
All-weather (Eisenhower Jacket) - 78.45
Accessories
Belts, striping of jacket, insignias for uniforms, ribbons, and whatnot-100

I do not think you will need to buy the ""NEW" Navy working uniform (ie: digital cammies) If you do, another 600 bucks right there.

If you go to a Marine base, you MAY need to get some marine-like cammies. Unknown on the price.

Bottom line, I am a nuke sub guy and my RADCON math says you will need something a bit more than a thousand bucks to outfit your first seabag.
