What billets are out their for a board cert anesthesiologist? I am a newly minted full defermant student and am curious in what capacity I would be utilized upon my return.

Where are you doing gas at, and what are the navy gas progs remaining?

I asked the question to a Navy buddy sitting here with me, and she said: "GMO tour".

Good luck.

Pretty sure there are billets at every Navy hospital
CONUS: NNMC, NMCP, NMCSD, NHCP, NHCL, NHB, NHTP, NHJ, NHP
OCONUS: Yokosuka, Okinawa, Guam, Rota, Naples, Sig.

What type of operational billets are their??

There are actually very few true operational billets. Some are assigned to Marine Units, but actually work at the hospital. We had 3 Anesthesia types at Oki who were assigned as part of 3rd FSSG, but they spent the overwhelming majority of their time in the hospital and only left for the multiple training deployments.

From what I understood their were no shipboard billets for physician anesthesiologist, are their any aboard the comfort or mercy??

Not as ship's company....you will augment there if there is a need.

coming from civilian training, you will likely be assinged a conus billet from which you will deploy on board a ship or some other such duty.
