hey,
is there anyone out there that is contemplating a career in the naval dental corp? (sort of sounds like i'm trying to sell this??)
i'm trying to get some feedback/input from anyone who has been down this road, or from anyone who knows someone who has choosen this route, and has heard of their experience. I'm pretty familiar with the procedure of enlisting, app's process, and physical, but would be interested in knowing how training is, how many hours a day the workload is, and just a general sentiment from someone who is there.
Thanks

I considered doing the armed forces thing. Compared to other branches, the downfall i saw to the navy was potentially spending months at sea. for me, i would go crazy if i were the dentist aboard the uss carl vincent, which has been at sea in the mideast for something close to 3 months. in my research, air force is the way to go. the quote i've heard several times is "country club style living." and the armed forces are hurting badly for health professionals right now. i dont know if it has passed yet, but they were trying to push a bill through congress that would provide a bonus incentive of 2500-7000. dont hold me to the specifics, but hey, every dollar counts. ultimately i have decided to finance my education on my own. if youre already in debt from undergrad, it armed forces is definitely worth considering.
