Just a random question, has anyone heard anything about the Urology residencies at San Diego or Portsmouth? I'm curious if there are any opinions out there as to which program may be better.

Last I heard there was only one urology program up and running in the Navy right now.

The program director left the Portsmouth program and the urology residency in general is in a state of "flux" for lack of a better word. The program director at my school is a Navy reservist O-6, prior active duty, who knows the people and the programs well. His thought is that FTOS is going to be the way to go for the foreseeable future. We have a FTOS Navy guy at our school now. You can check the military match results on Bupers website to see who got what this year. Basically one person got urology at San Diego and several got FTOS or alternate.

DiveDoc may be able to give you a more precise picture of the word around the campfire as he just went through the JSGMESB in December.

Hope this helps.
