That's what I used to think, but isn't it short for "homeboy"? This is important stuff...monkeyarms said:just for the record..."holmes" is the preferred nomenclature 😉

Bevo said:actually, it might not have been a goal tending. I can't remember which show I was watching and they had gone to the rule book to see if it was goal tending or not.
ANd the rule stated that you can put your hand through the hoop as long as it does not alter the outcome of the shot.

Chris Duhon and Kirk Hinrich. let me preface this by saying that they're a couple of B-listers. and by B-listers, i mean, they barely even make the list. let's be honest, they're weak. almost anemic. i would even go as far as throwing out the diagnosis of Marasmus or Kwashiakor, if you will (and i'm sure you will). and of course i reserve that Dx for only the most unfortunate individuals of said species. someone bust out the TPN. sick.
it was just after they lost the series to the Heat and they could care less. it was as if they were happy that the season had ended so they could do nothing for the next few months. i can't believe this....they're shameful. i'd sell my loyalty to the Bulls on ebay, but apparently it's already been done. i might just have to sell my dignity as a chicago sports fan to any willing taker on the market. please inquire within.......fuk.

John or Sherlock? That's a very interesting interpretation and might be true, but I don't know. I am pretty sure, however, that "homie" is short for "hominid", the phylogenetic family that Homo Sapiens belong to as well as many extinct species. I'll find out for sure next time I'm in south central.monkeyarms said:i agree that this is important. you may be right, but i've always thought of "homie" as being the extension of homeboy and "holmes" being a respectful refence to either john or sherlock (context dependent, of course!)
monkeyarms said:hate on hater! arenas blew the WIDE OPEN three to win game 3 and the free throws to win game 6. he's good, but the refs don't lose games. bring on the pistons (we are primed for a beatdown).
brisk80 said:Oh my goodness!!! The cav's just got demolished. I am hoping for a more exciting game two or I will be a witness to whatever else is on prime time that evening. I doubt the pistons will be able to shoot like that again in the rest of the series. At the start of the 4 th quarter if I remember correctly they were shooting 65% from the floor and some ridiculous 12/14 from 3pt land.

I won't talk trash, because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But to say that Manu Gifloploi is more exiting than LeBron? Maybe if we're talking about the best flopper ever. We should start a separate forum. I nominate Giniobili or Derrick Fisher. Reggie Miller would be on there too. Some guys are good at acting, though. Manu is OBVIOUS.driverabu said:and yet ABC put the 2 best teams at noon, when it knows that half the nation be either be asleep or at church. Now we all know that it doesn't take much brains at all to be an executive at ABC, just the right connections. How stupid can they actually be putting lebron on primetime, which is the ONLY reason they wanted to show the spurs/mavs game at noon instead of showing two real championship contenders on primetime. Before any NON true fan speaks out against this, David Stern actually admitted he was wrong...a rarity...by letting ABC pull that idiotic move. ABC really needs to wake up and realize that the individual is NOT more important that the concept of team. NBC was much better than ABC will ever be as far as the basketball arena goes...also, at least NBC didn't have that annoying ***** Bill Walton speaking out of his a** like ABC does..... Plus, I would rather watch Ginobili play than Lebron. Lebron is an awesome player, but Ginobili is much more exciting to watch.

It's much easier to excuse flop artists when they're on the team you root for. It might be a part of the game, but I think it's embarrassing to see. Manu is so obvious it makes me respect him less, even though he is a great player.driverabu said:So what if he flops, what player doesn't flop when they are pushed? It's part of the game and just because Ginobili does it better than any other player doesn't mean he should get crap for it. My point was that I would rather watch somebody who can play wicked defense, come up with crazy steals, make crazy moves to the basket than somebody who just scores. Oh, and forgive Manu if he has been hurt this year, but you guys thinking that all Manu is good for is flopping is like me saying that Lebron is only good for scoring and that's it! Doesn't make a lot of sense does it....it's just a fraction of Manu's game. Just my 2 cents

I called a pistons mavs matchup in the finals weeks ago... Maybe I should be an analyst.

TX515 said:The Pistons aren't playing like the team of old, the defense isn't there. They couldn't stop L. James from getting to the board. Too bad he missed most of the layups. I can't see Detroit getting past Miami with the say Detroit is playing. They will have to step up. The Mavs vs Phoenix should be a better series. Hopefully the Mavs can pull it out. Since Stoudamire is out, it is possible.
How about you Chicago fans ending up #2 in the draft??

The bulls were a tease this year.
As a side note, did anyone else notice that the Bulls game had a 5 sec delay b/w TNT and SportsCenter???

In that case, it is a good thing that it was a best of 7 series.Bevo said:Fresh from the Too Little, Too Late Dept. comes word that the NBA rescinded the technical foul against San Antonio's Michael Finley in the second quarter of Game 4 in Dallas. Finley was called for a technical with 4:44 remaining in the half, and it appeared to be borderline at best. ``You can imagine what I wanted to say when I heard that," said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who found out about the decision Thursday. ``Does that mean we win the game by 1 point?" Game 4, which was played May 15, went into overtime, and the Mavericks prevailed, 123-118, so the technical was huge. (Dirk Nowitzki made the free throw.) For Finley, it means he won't have to fork over $1,000 to the league. For the Spurs, it means yet another tough break in a series they just as easily could have won.
