hey i am stuck in the same situation...ive done decks, first aid and a couple other sources but cant seem to improve my score above 65-70 per each subject... ive heard that to score on the actual NBDE we should be getting around 80-85 questions right per subject... ive only done 3 years of past papers which are in the 1970's and 1980's so hopefully i score higher as i get to the more recent exams... anyone else have insight on how to improve our score on the past papers???? thanks 👍

This is no easy way and shortcut. If you don't feel that you are well-prepared for your coming exam, may be you should postpone it since you can not retake the exam if you don't get a satisfying score.

Wat else can we do so that we can score better, start revising decks or start doing questions papers again

dude if u wont mind i want to share something
first tell me are u giving ur exam first time
the score ur getting in asda is not enough study hard u hav to get atleast 85 to 90 then ul fine remember u cant repeat the exam. think bfr u go t the exam.

yea this will be my first time giving the exam. i understand that 65-70 questions right on ASDA papers isnt enough thats why im asking how should i improve on my score. Do you think it would be wise to do the rest of ASDA papers and review the explanations on the incorrect answers or go about it in a different manner. I have about 4 weeks left and worst case scenario is i postpone my exam.. Any input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks 🙂

The worst case scenario is not postponing your exam. It is getting a score between 75-80. In this scenario, you pass the NBDE part I, but the chance for you to get admitted into any program is slim unless you have very strong background.

i agree, that would definitely be the worst case which i will avoid. just need some advice or input on how to increase my scores. i know to study more and understand concepts better but ive used kaplan usmle for physio and patho, all of NBDE first aid, aclands dvd's and decks but still cant score 😕 mind you ive only done a few years of ASDA papers which were in the 1980's so hopefully i get higher scores as i get to the 1990's and so on but time will tell. if anyone has been in the same situation then please give some insight...thanks guys 👍

dude if this is the first time then think it is also the last time so u give dnt hurry up dnt wry abt schools cuz ul miss deadlines, just think u have to score 90 and above so study kaplan in and out decks, asda. ul be fine with these dnt go the actual exam is much much tougher than the realeased papers. so be careful.

I understand that the NBDE is getting tough day by day but, I have gone through ASDA papers and decks, do you want me to revise them again

there is no need to be mean.

smiles2smiles, we all know how stressful studying for boards is. i can understand what you are going thru. just hang in there. keep revising. when u answer the QPs, u must have noted down the areas where u r weak in. go over those topics again and again. chances are that you will be more confident after 2 more revisions. you can always reschedule if u r not confident. but i wd say, the longer u wait, the more u r going to forget. so try to work hardest during this time. only u know how prepared u r. so make that decision based on how confident u r 2 days before u walk into that exam center. Good luck!

need a 85-90?? a 75 is passing. plus there is a scale. i know ppl who got raw scores in the 50s in at least 2-3 subjects and still passed. if you score in the 60s you will pass.

and earlier the OP said "ive heard that to score on the actual NBDE we should be getting around 80-85 questions right per subject".....i don't know what "to score" means but if you want to pass its 75 (scaled). if you want to specialize, that is a different story but there have been ppl in the 80s that have went on to specialize.
