Which US dental school(s) which you are aware of that DOES NOT take NBDE Part I after second year. We know that the majority of US dental schools do take their NBDE Part I after second year, but which ones don't? I know that now NBDE Part I is available anytime on the computer, but I'm inquiring about in the very recent past or currently. Could you please share the school name and when they take NBDE Part I?

As of last summer, VCU students now take part 1 of the boards after their first year (second semester).

Can you re-take NBDE 1 if you are not satisfied with your scores? - if yes, how soon after the first attempt?

I don't know if this qualifies as "FACT", but I was told in person by UIC's director of admissions that they just changed their schedule. Now students will take Part I after 2nd semester 1st year.

I don't want to hijack Andy's thread, but you can take the exam TWICE in any given calendar year. This still holds true, even though the exam is available on computer now. So, the paper test dates are July and December, and the computer dates are any dates, but only twice in the year.

MCG does not take theirs until summer after sophomore year. At least, nobody has told me anything about needing to get ready for boards this summer. 🙂

Just to remind everyone that this thread is about when US dental schools take Part 1 boards BESIDES the traditional time after their 2nd year in the summer.
