well, I got my score....83 🙁
I took the exam at the end of december, I'm not sure how i feel about it, I studied for a good 2.5 weeks.....there were some really random testlet questions, also some of the dental anatomy was random, i got no moving occlusion .....the phys/biochem wasn't that bad....gross was mostly head and neck.

I'm bummed about it, especially now that we've started our pedo class I got really interested, does anyone know if there's a chance to specialize? my rank is in the 20s out of 100.. does pedo require stellar grades??

hey burnish.. thats a decent score..and not at all bad for 2.5 weeks of preparation..
Could you please share your raw scores? It will be really kind of you..

i wasn't happy with my score either (just missed the 90!) and am thinking about pedo, so i set up a meeting with our dean of academic affairs to talk about my options. from what he's been hearing from program directors across the country, he thinks that people who took the new version of the test and scored in the upper 80s will still be able to get into specialty programs...something like they may add 3 or 4 points onto your score to compare you to ppl who took the old version. he doesnt think this will be the case for ortho or oral surgery or super competitive programs for most specialties...so you would have to retake for the 90 for those. i don't know if i'm explaining that clearly, so i would suggest talking to the person who deals with boards in your school.

thanks for the info, that does make more sense since I thinnk this new format of the nbde is a bit more tricky.
