I am still a few months away from taking the first part of boards part 1 but a lot of people are now selling their materials that they used to study. For those that have taken it, what materials did you find most efficient? What are your opinions on dental decks? Thanks!

I took it yesterday and I think the decks are useless. Basically each card was just a page of a book with really bad black and white illustrations. I would suggest using an actual book like first aid maybe with better pictures and more organized. I can't suggest a book because I didn't use any but I'm sure someone on here will suggest the best one.

I'm using an app called Dental boards mastery part 1. It's in the form of Q&A on my form to keep me engaged (and possibly motivated while i'm taking the classes relevant like Occlusion, Gen Path, etc.)

I also used "Dental Boards Mastery I" app for NBDE part I. I allowed it to send push notifications and purchased it for $45 when it advertised a 1-day 50% discount special. I also used this guy's youtube presentations:

They're short, sweet, and to the point. Finally, take the old ADA exams. There are a few that are offered for free. They recycle some questions. Between those 3 resources, I felt pretty comfortable. We'll see in 2 weeks or so.

* I didn't use dental decks, kaplan, first aid, etc.
