Okay, the results are in. Anyone willing to share the pass rate on part I at your school? Just curious. I have no idea what it was here at IU. I'm a 4th year and from I've heard, the 3rd years didn't do so well.

I wish they would actually post on the NBEO site how each school does on each part. Everyone says their school does this high % pass rate on the NBEO part 1, but the national pass rate I believe is around 67-69% passing everytime.

We haven't found out our schools passing rate yet but I'll post it as soon as I hear anything. I'm excited to hear but the rumor going around is that we did worse than last years class :-(

Does the NBEO use the scores only from people who take it their first time as the average? Because I know some schools use the averages of everyone that takes it (even if it's not their first time) to boost the percent. Perhaps that's the difference...?

And I've heard over and over again that the nat'l avg was 77% ??!!!??

77% was the national pass rate this time... the second highest national pass rate in the history of the NBEO. The mean score was 69% correct, the highest in the history of the NBEO. Here is a link to the full stats report http://www.optometry.org/pdf/stats/BS0806.pdf .

Thanks!!!! I was just about to post it 😀 We are pretty proud - our class average score was 498! And I think the highest in the class was 760 - sheesh!!👍 👍 👍

Congradulations, I agree that is a really high score! I'm just glad I passed. Anyone know who got the 781? I think that is what the boards website said was the highest score.
