NBME 19 score, should I go for it?

Hey everyone,

I just did nbme 19 and got a 224, a few weeks back got 227 on nbme 17. According to most students who took the test they scored on average 15-20 higher on the real exam compared to nbme 19. My goal is 230 plus.

If you were in my shoes would you go give the exam immediately?

My date is on Aug 17th but I know I can't wait that long.

The Assoc Dean for Preclinical Education at my SOM, an MD, is a big believer that a student can bring up their score in weeks by doing nothing but qbanks: the more the better. FWIW, do more real timed qbanks if it means that much to you.

I think you're in a good position if 230 is your goal, I would definitely keep whatever your test date is.

Thanks. I was scheduled for Aug 17th but now have pulled it back to the 9th, so next week. Is this too long from the time I took nbme 19 which was a week from today?

I took NBME 19 2 weeks before my test, took 2 more practice tests in-between and ended up doing a lot better than my 19 score.

I gave nbme19 2 weeks before the real deal and ended up getting over around 10 points.

According to the trend it definitely is. After all your hard work you have to put your trust into your prep and make sure you have a good mood on that day. Tell yourself you have done all you can, put a smile on your face and walk in 🙂
