I am just now starting to study for the NBME/CBSE exam for OMFS. I've gone through about 30 pages of threads now and haven't had much luck.
I am wondering if there are any free online resources/links that anyone knows of to study ie. old exams, Q banks, flash cards, practice exams etc. Any info would really help. My email is [email protected] I realllllllly appreciate it!

First aid for USMLE, and Uworld Q Bank. Neither are free.
Quizlet has a lot of USMLE flashcards... often derived from sources like first aid, RX, kaplan, firecracker or Doctors in Training.

The best people to ask are any friends you may have in medical school. They often pass around materials for free to each other.

Agreed.

First Aid
Uworld
Pathoma
Goljan PDF

all can be found on the interwebs....except uworld, which is WORTH the cost.

I wouldn't be super cheap about this though...if you go 4yr it's the most important test of your life.

Used a LOT:
First Aid
Pathoma
UWorld
Anki (for making digital flashcards on class lectures)
Old exams

Used less often, but still great:
Goljan Rapid Review
DrWillBe's flash cards

I think the first couple of NBMEs are worthless though...they're so easy that you can't really compare them to the current test. And some of those answers they give in the versions I have are just flat out wrong.

They help only to get a FEEL for the test, and you could easily do that doing only the 5 most current versions.

I wish I'd been able to figure out anki tho, I'm a notecard guy and did it all by hand (1300 notecards hand written).

Totally agree - thats why they are used in conjunction with UWorld. Old exams to get an idea of what is covered and what it is like, and UWorld to show you how hard the questions can be lol. Also, you did all 1300 by hand?!? OMG :nailbiting:
