ok so I purchased the NBME exams 1, 2, 3 to prepare for USMLE Step II CK.

I have taken exam I, which only contains four blocks....(why didnt it contain 8 blocks)? That was a waste of 45 bucks...I can not even review the exam!!!

Is that the same for exams 2 and 3? Or are they full exams that contain 8 blocks? Also, will I be able to review the questions?

One more question, are there any other full length exams that I can take (computer based) that resemble most to the USMLE?

I have done all the usmleworld questions and kaplan ones and now I just want to do full exams....any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a million for your support. God bless.

All the NBME exams are 4 blocks and you can't review the questions. You can take them in tutor mode where you get 4 hours/block instead of 1 hour and review the questions as you go along. I highly recommend that you do the NBME exams. They are the closest thing to the real test.

I'm not sure if there is a kaplan simulated exam (350 questions/7 hours) for Step 2 like there is for Step 1. An internet search might bring up something.
You could also just find another question source like NMS/Kaplan Qbank/Qbook and do 8 blocks one after the other in timed mode.

Are you able to pause the NBME exams while you take them in the self-paced mode? I know you don't get as accurate a projection of your proper score, but I do have other things i have to do occasionally and I don't want to run out of time and waste the money I spent.

If I can't pause them, I guess I'll just wait until I have 4+ hours free back to back to take it.

Thanks

I think you can "suspend" the test. If you do that, it signs you out and then you have to sign back in and it starts off where you left off. I'm not 100% sure though. I remember doing it while taking the NBME during Step 1.

you can pause the exam. I took nbme 1 at school, and had to pause several times when people inadvertently started conversations not realizing I was agonizing over the test. i was not able to highlight which pi$$ed me off, and there is no way to check your answers.

Is one NBME exam more accurate at predicting your score than the other? I took #1 last week and I did better than I thought I would compared to my USMLEWorld scores.

NBME Form 1 is the easiest of them all. I would do the others, especially Forms 2 and 3. If you have the time/money, I recommend you do all 4.
