My heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread bumped to the top. I was hoping for some news or something. lol. I had a dream last night that the adcoms were had made decisions and were sending out the letters. :laugh:
 
I called today and tammy said that we should receive letters by the 15th.....so im assuming they are now out of committee review according to what she said last week. She was very vague compared to last week so I guess any day now???
 
So when you say we should receive it by the 15th....does that mean that we could possibly receive it earlier?
 
wow! I know they send out the acceptance letters before the waitlist/rejection ones....So it sounds like you're right...any day now people will start to get acceptances....yay! finally!
 
wolfpack87----I am assuming it could be any day now.....she didnt comment on whether or not decisions had been made....maybe she had a lot of phone calls today about it and decided not to elaborate....but im taking it as the list is finalized and they are working on sending letters out..but who knows!!

Paris2014, that would be nice. I hate that they send it to your permanent address though as I live in Raleigh probably 15 minutes away from the school. My permanent address is in Fayetteville. 🙁
 
My permanent address is in Apex so as soon as I hear something I will def. post, unfortunately my mail doesnt come until 5pm!! good luck to everyone!

Paris- she said that they will be received by the 15th, and not just mailed by the 15th? This is much sooner than I thought....yikes!!!

Cedriccj3, I'd prefer sooner than later. I hate waiting (as I'm sure everyone else does). I've just never been a particularly patient person. I guess more so with this because it's a life altering thing...ya know?

It's funny because this entire time I've been so eager to find out and now all of a sudden I am terrified. And yes I agree, the stakes are pretty high here and that definitely complicates the way I am feeling. Oh well, here it goes!! Best of luck to everyone, keep us updated!

Agreed! It's scary now that it's down to the last few days...I just keep trying to prepare myself for bad news so I won't be too devastated if it works out that way...I just wish I had some clue as to how it might go..but I have no idea!
 
Cedriccj3--I cant remember the exact words....my co-worker called for me but she made it seem like we should know something by the 15th and not just that letters would be sent out by then. But again who knows.....I wish tammy would have been a little more elaborate
 
I wish someone else would call her and post the response on here (I'm way too chicken to do that though 😳).
 
Maybe she is becoming more vague because she is giving dates and people keep calling again and again anyways? just a thought. 🙂
 
Sumstorm, I have a question (and please...PLEASE don't take this the wrong way or anything b/c I'm just curious). How are you able to spend so much time on this forum being a first year? I'm not going to lie...I don't have much of a life right now b/c all I do is work (I graduated in December) so I pretty much live on here whenever I'm not working (it annoys the hell out of my g/f). With that said, I greatly appreciate your input on any given topic. 🙂

I have ADD. I do NOT focus well in the classroom, but 2013 are pretty devoted class attenders,so I feel like I *should* be in class, but the noises of class (moving, writng, ventilation systems, birds outside the door) distract me, so I can't study between classes, so that is when I check email, SDN, etc. I type fast, so quick messages, & I only read a portion of the threads.

Immunology is starting, so back to OneNote.
 
It's hard to believe that in 10 days or less we'll know our fate :scared:. All that hard work comes down to this one decision. Good luck everyone. I hope we all do well.

Did you or anyone else get a small letter in the mail about financial aid? That scared me too! Apparently, getting a small envelope is a bad thing...
According to last year, everyone got acceptance letters on the first Saturday of March....so I guess there's a chance we could hear tomorrow as well! Of course, there were way more OOSers this year and they received acceptances later than normal...so I suppose we may have a few more days to wait...who knows..all I know is that I'll be happy to sleep normally again after the 15th!

My acceptance (OOSer) was a small letter. I mean it had more than one sheet of paper in it so I guess it had a little bit of heft but it was a small envelope and everything.

Oh, thanks Risika! I just saw from a year or two ago that they mentioned it was a large envelope...so now I won't freak out if it's small 😉

Not sure if this is true...but I heard that OOS receives a regular sized envelope while IS receives a large envelope. I know two first years at NC (one IS...one OOS) and it was like that with them. My OOS friend said that their big packet didn't come until March. I was accepted to Auburn OOS and only recevied a regular sized envelope as well. Oh, and sorry to scare everyone.
 
my envelope included the admissions packet.
 
sumstorm, did you receive a large manilla envelope?
 
I am pretty sure it was a large 8.5" x 11" white windowed envelope.
 
gotcha, thanks a bunch. oh and btw, I was helping my friend (your fellow class mate) study for embryology. omg, I feel like I'm already in over my head and school hasn't event started yet. lol
 
I also received a big packet via snail mail, sent to my home address. Since my home address is a long ways from Raleigh, I got my letter a day later than most. Scratch that. Two days later, since it was over a weekend. My wonderful, loving mother went home from work at lunch to check the mail for me on Monday. I remember lots of 'It's a big packet!!!' screaming even before she opened it. If you dig up last year's thread though, you can re-live the drama of my weekend freak out as I waited for my letter.
 
Ok....I wasn't nervous at all until I found this thread. Good Luck to everyone....Hope we get some news soon!! I think I'm a two day mailing from Raleigh so I'm sure I won't be the first to know.....
 
Not like it matters all that much, but last year the people first started receiving their acceptances on the 7th (IS) which was a Saturday. Just thought I would share that with everyone. Granted, that's obviously not going happening this year...but I will say I believe it was right before Spring Break. I remember that had to be the longest weekend of my life. I was invited to go out to a local bar in Raleigh and just so happened to meet someone in our group that had received his letter that day...it SUCKED. That was all he talked about the whole night (can't say that I blame him though...lol). If I had to guess, I would imagine that IS would start receiving letters around Saturday, maybe before. Well here's to hoping that this year goes better than last year did. Rant off....sorry...I just am so antsy. I've been having trouble sleeping lately...hence why this post is so late/early.
 
Anyone else in the same boat as me? I have an interview at TN on Friday, which I would have to leave for on Thursday. It would definitely be nice to hear back from state before wasting 120+ dollars driving out there (gas money, money lost from taking off 2 days of work, etc).

Anyone know if the letters have been sent yet? I know we'll all know by the 15th, but I thought the acceptance letters and rejection/waitlist letters were usually sent out separately.

Last year, rejection and waitlist letters were sent almost a week after acceptance letters.

My heart dropped when I saw this thread bumped up. Tech2Vet you aren't the only one going crazy. I've been literally losing sleep over all this. lol
 
I've been lurking without posting for a few months now. I'm awaiting acceptance, too. Last year I got my rejection letter this very Tuesday -- nothing in the mail on this day this year (one way or the other).

GL to everyone. May dreams come true.
 
At least we're all in it together eh? Let's keep our fingers crossed that tomorrow's mail brings good news...

Sorry to scare everyone by posting here... I just wanted to wish everyone luck in the coming days and I hope that I'll get to meet you guys in April! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :xf:

Thanks for calling. I'm just getting so frustrated. My life has been on "hold/pause" for nearly 3 years now.
 
AHHHH......maybe by the end of the week we will know.....my mail doesnt come until 5 and I wont be home until 7 so I will post if I get anything......hang in there everyone!!!
 
I called today as well. I was told letters would be mailed on this friday. Im am thinking that means acceptances will be mailed on friday...and then waitlist and rejections early next week....just my assumption based on how everything was last cycle. Only a few more days of waiting! Good luck to all. 🙂
 
You must have been more charming than me haha. Or maybe you just hot ahold of someone more forthcoming. Whoever I spoke yo was very tightlipped. I'm glad for the info though. I just don't want to wsi 3 more days : (.
 
I just called and spoke to the director of admissions. He said that the letters are on schedule to be mailed Monday, March 15. He understood my anxiety but graciously asked that applicants stop calling and e-mailing the office about the release date (as well as family members, friends, etc). A timeline is posted on the website that states March 15 and he is sticking to that date out of both necessity (still working on the process) and respect to the applicants.

That's all I know.
 
I understand that they're probably tired of people calling and e-mailing. It does suck though that according to what you said, they won't be sending letters out until the 15th. The timeline posted on their site also state Jan. 31st for OOS...however several people on here received their letters before then. You can't really blame us....
 
That just makes me more anxious.......its odd that he said the 15th and the other day someone was told this friday....oh well I guess we wait and see what happens!!
