I recently changed programs from prepharmacy to premed. Applying to pharmacy school is extremely competitive in Michigan and you pretty much need all A's in prepharm to get accepted. I want to apply to med school and I currently have a GPA of 3.8. I have some more difficult classes ahead of me and I am just wondering if straight A's are necessary?

Its not necessary for an acceptance. BUT, advisable to get all 4.0's

While all A's will definitely help you, B's are alright too. You really should strive to make A's in the most important classes though (classes that really help you prepare for the mcat and classes that are prereqs for med school) this will not only help you stand out from all other applicants, but it will also help you personally as you study and prepare for standardized exams.

if you dont get straight a's you better drop out and learn the phrase, "would you like fries with that"
