Hi everyone!
So I took my step 1 and I was wondering if I take step II, do I have to report this as well when applying to acgme or do I have the preference of selecting which scores to send? (It's implied, but I'm a DO). Also what do other DO's who have applied view the step II score's necessity? I'm most likely applying to IM programs with a mid 230's step I (pissed off because I always choke on these damn tests when my average practice was 250+).

I'm not a DO but when you fill out your ERAS application you can't pick and choose which scores to send unless some of your scores aren't released yet (i.e. Step 2 CK and CS). If your scores for Steps 1 and 2 are already posted when you apply through ERAS they will both be sent. If only Step 1 is posted you can choose not to automatically update your USMLE transcripts in which case you can decided after your future Step 2 score is posted to release it or not based on how good it is I guess. You are, however, supposed to put on the ERAS application when you Have Taken/Will Take any licensing exams, so if you "Will Take" Step 2 at a certain time and you have not updated programs with a score from that test within a few weeks then I suppose they may wonder why they don't have a score yet. I hope that explanation is not too confusing.

No that was great. Thank you a billion!!!
At my school they like to see you swim alone so any information I'm truly grateful for.😀
