Hey guys!

I was wondering... NECO has this thing for the new entering class where ppl can come in June and they will have apartment representatives there to show us the available apartments for housing. We will also get to meet the entering class. However, I will be having my undergrad graduation that day and can't make it. Does anyone know the best way to find a roommate and housing? Let me know. Thanks! =)

you can contact joshua parker with student affairs, he can set you up with a roommate and a place. or you can just fly out here to boston on your own time and check out some places.

last year the entering class setup a website and some people worked out living arrangments by contacting people through there, but i'm not sure if anyone has taken the intiative to setup something similar for your class yet.

as you may know the area the school is located in is fairly expensive and the cost of living close the school is quite high in comparison to costs for accomodation further away, in surrounding areas such as allston, brighton, brookline. however from personally experience i'm going to tell that living close to the school is worth every penny if you can spare it. many of my classmates who currently live outside of boston loathe the transit to school and home and are looking to move into the city close to the school for the following year.

but that's not to say there are many other people who are quite happy with their current residencies as you can generally find more spacious apartments further out of the city.

also keep in mind that boston is an old city, haha a lot of the apartments might not be what you expect.

one place you could check is craig's list boston, just type it into google and you can have a look at some of the postings there.

hope that sort of helps.

That helps alot. THANKS! I'm kinda nervous/anxious because I've grown up in CA all my life and the only time I've gone to East Coast was for these interviews. Is the city easy to adjust to? What's there to do in Boston and what is the lifestyle like? Also, how big are the average apartments? Sorry for all the questions. Any answers are quite helpful! =)

What isn't there to do in Boston? NECO is in a great area. There are so many colleges and universities in Boston and places to go on Landsdowne Street as well as Fanueil Hall area, etc. NECO is near Newbury Street (shopping and cafes), the Copley area, and not far from the Public Gardens. There is Harvard Square and Cambridge, watching Red Sox games, going to the Theatre District or even taking trips to the beach or mountains when you're not too busy studying....and much more. Apartments will probably be small unless you are rich!
