Okay... let me know what you guys think:
When I filled out my AMCAS, I was under the impression that I would be receiving two separate BA's for my two undergraduate degrees; biology and sociology. But I just found out today that because of some total unit requirement, that I will actually be receiving only ONE degree that indicates that I double majored in both biological sciences and sociology. So really, I am not a BA,BA; but rather I am just a BA in biological sciences AND sociology.
On my amcas, I indicated that I was receiving a BA for each major. Thinking back to the amcas primary, I don't remember if it was even possible to make a distinction such as the one I made in the above.
In light of this new information, should I let medical schools know that I am really only receiving one BA? Or is this unimportant enough to just mention in an interview or something. Remember that I did fulfill ALL of my requirements for both majors and I am still considered a "double major." In other words, if med schools only cared about their stats (i.e. "X% of entrants were double majors"), I would fit in their "double major" category.
The last thing I wanna do is send out letters to the 35+ medical schools I applied to for something that isn't that important or that they don't wanna spend the time to understand.
Help! thanks.
