Hi guys, I'm relatively new to the forum. I wasn't able to find much information for Hawaii interviews. Was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm also out of state (California). Thanks.

If you don't have ties to the state it's pretty much a crapshot. I interviewed there last year and I got rejected. The impression I got is that they pretty much interview everyone.

my advice: if you're going to hawaii for an interview, you might as well make a vacation out of it. 😀

Be laid back. DO NOT show up in a standard suit. Even professionals wear "Aloha shirts".

Everyone gets interviews? I'm not sure that's true. I heard they are very selective with secondaries for out-of-staters, and only 100 out-of-staters get interviews (for 5 positions). Since I'm sure some of the people they offer positions to turn them down, then an interviewees chances are better than 5%.

Theres only 2 ways to get in:
1: Be a resident of Hawaii
2: Get a 45 on the MCAT, 4.00 GPA and win a Nobel prize.

and only then can you have a chance at getting a seat there, but its not garanteed.

When is your interview vegangirl? Are you out-of-state, and if so, did you take the MCAT in August? I only ask because I'm still waiting... They wanted my Spring schedule to make sure I'm taking Cell Bio, and since then, I haven't heard anything.
