Need Advice for Letters of Rec.

Hey everyone...I'm new on this and I just had a quick question. Any advice would be GREAT! I want to apply to DO schools, but I know that you need a letter of rec from a doctor, particularly a DO. What is the best way to get this? I know that shadowing is a good option, but my question to that would be how long do you shadow a dr before it is ok to ask them for a letter of rec? Thanks...

I got really lucky, I shadowed the one DO that wrote my letter maybe 4 times, and I didnt really shadow him. I spent most of the time with his residents and apparently he wrote me an amazing letter, or so the two schools I applied to told me.

Start shadowing and ask when it feels right.
