Hi, I really need someone to give me realistic & honest advice for my future plan to get into dental schools.

I currently hold bachelor degree, ( health science) however missing a lot of pre-req courses. I probably need to

spend at least 1 ~ 2 years to complete pre req. ( gen bio2 , chem 1,2 , org chem, physics, microbiology)

I'm 29 yrs old, just got back from the army few months ago. Currently taking gen bio 1 from 4yr college as

visiting student since didnt have time for more classes.

however army isnt paying for my school tuition since im not full time and I'm not getting any degree.

Therefore, I'm thinking about apply to community college for a.s degree in biology which will cover most of my

pre-req even though cc credits are strongly discouraged. On the other hand, I can apply to dental hygiene

program (A.S degree). Thing is I really need to get into some type of program whether its getting A.S degree or

hygiene program. My undergrad gpa isnt competitive enought so i'm thinking toward getting A.S biology degree

to boost up my undergra gps but cant really tell which one should I take.

Going to a dental Hygiene program is great if you want to you want to be a dental hygienist but not a dentist. I would advise against doing all of your prerequisites at a community college. Admissions want to know that you are able to handle a full schedule of science classes at the level of a University. It's not as cheap, but consider it an investment in your future!
