Hey all. I'm in my second year off and I'm currently in the middle of the application process. Over the past two years I haven't done anything substantial that might give me the wow factor. Just MCAT prep, volunteering, tutoring, high school assistant coach, etc. I want to do something that would a) be meaningful to me, and b) that would potentially help me get into schools that I am and may be waitlisted at. Any ideas and suggestions on what I can do would be very much appreciated!

are you working? i've been an RA since i graduated (this is also my second year off). i've found the research experience to be really helpful, esp in writing essays... if you're into research i'd try that.

Yea, i'm beginning to look into some research positions. But I'm thinking on a larger scale like starting a volunteer organization or something. My only concern would be that I wouldn't be able to see it through.

After looking at your MDapps I don't know who's SDN kool-aide your drinking, but your EC's are fine. You don't have to be Mother Theresa to get into medical school. And, holy ****, you are waitlisted at Case, wchich is nothing to be ashamed of, you will probably (definately) get in somewhere else.
