Hi. Here another one of "Choose my schools for me" thread. lol

I've been listing down and eliminating schools but I can't seem to find the right number of schools I should apply to.

NY resident. Asian American with permanent residency.
BS in Biochemistry @ Stony brook
GPA:3.62, sGPA 3.6ish

RC:18
QR:18
PAT:27
BIO:20
OC:22
GC:23
TS:21
AA:20

Bunch of additional upper level science courses like, human anatomy, Biochem, microbio, genetics, statistics, and cell bio.

General Chem TA 1yr+, Lab technician(research) aid 1yr+, Pharmacology lab research ~2yrs but no publication,
School Club president 2yrs, bunch of student clubs, Undergraduate Student Government Senator 1yr.
Worked as private tutor for several years. That pretty much sums it up.

My concerns on choosing schools are:

1. I don't have dentist recommendation because I shadowed at Stony dental school
so I could not stick around with one dentist to get close.
Another dentist I shadowed was back several years ago in Korea so I couldn't get one from him either.
So any school that requires dentist recom should be out.

2. I have about 70hrs shadowing hours which is really not much. I will do more next semester
but at the moment I apply, i'll only put down as much. So any school that require like 100hr+ hrs should be out I guess.

3. My RC and QR scores bother me alot. I don't think 18 is below cut line for most schools but I'm still concerned.

So far, my choices are:

Stonybrook
Buffalo
NYU
Columbia
UMDNJ
BU

Case?
Upenn?
Pitt?
UCSF?
USC?
Western?
Nova?

What schools should I remove from my list for what reason?
Any schools that I should consider besides these?
Any inputs are welcome!!
Thank you!

With your stats I would remove USC, they are really sounding like they dont have the greatest reputation right now and your stats are good enough to get into a higher notch school. I would definitely apply to UPenn and Nova if I were you. You have a legitimate chance at both of those schools and both are known as great schools and Nova's location, you just cant beat. Thats my opinion.

Yea I heard about USC being a little less favorable choices nowadays but I don't know exactly why that is. Is there any other school I should be catious about??
