Hello all,
I'll be taking Step 1 next June and I have always had the necessity/habit of starting my review early for standardized tests. I plan to annotate the supplemental board review material into First Aid 2011 and then review. But in order to annotate, I have to know what the best sources are. Here is what I am using/buying so far:

BRS biochemistry flashcards
Rapid Review/ Goljan Biochemistry
Microcards: Microbiology Flashcards
Clinical Micro Made Ridiculously Simple
High Yield Neuroanatomy
High Yield Immunology
BRS Physiology
Rapid Review/ Goljan Pathology

I Need advice on resources for the following:

1) Pharmacology: What is a good review book that could work for supplementing the class and for Step 1? Preferably flash cards and obviously with few errors.

2) Anatomy? I used BRS Gross anatomy for my course but it was too dense and I found a few errors as well.

3)Embryology? I'm planning on just sticking to First Aid for this

4) Histology?

Anything crucial that I'm missing? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance. Good luck to all who are taking the test and to those awaiting their scores.

I have the lange series flash cards, brs books, robbins, guyton, golijan, kaplan step I, and kaplan flash cards, 2 embryo books for sale if your interested. I don't even know why I kept them this long, nostalgia I guess. but i have no further use for them. PM me if interested

Lol! You didnt even answer the question-salesman:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

the answer is none of them. that's why I offered the flashcards/brs questions. by the time you hit boards, hopefully your 1st aid book is well written in and full of notes. uworld and pick some flashcards or brs for review on detailed things you missed should be all you need. don't take too many resources, it'll make your studying worse.

The idea of starting early is great, but resist the temptation of using too many resources.

1. Pharm - There is no agreed upon best source compared to Path (Goljan). My best advice for this subject is use FA to see which drugs you should know and really try to learn those well during class. If you find yourself weak in this subject I recommend the Kaplan Pharm Videos.

2. Anatomy - again, no agreed upon best source. Read the 2011 long thread and you'll find ppl using many, often random sources. No advice here - really hit or miss on Step 1.

3. Embryo - FA + UW should suffice.

4. Histo - UW is fine (only ~16 histo questions/2100 so very low yield)
