Hi Everyone,
I just received a letter from Case saying that they've placed my application on hold until I retake the DAT. I originally took it on July 22nd and if I was to retake it, the new date would have to be end of October/beginning of November. I'm worried that this would be too late since by then most schools have made the majority of their decisions and have interviewed many applicants.
However, I don't want to not retake the DAT and end up having my application on hold/rejected by all the schools I applied to.

My scores were: 19 Bio, 19 Gc, 15 Oc, 15 PAT 🙁, 19 Rc, 16Qr
my gpa is 3.4

What do you guys think? Should I wait and see the responses from the other schools I applied to?or Should I just go ahead and retake even if my chances of getting in will be slim to none?

if i were you i would retake it asap
other than those 3 sections, your dat scores are decent
but a lot of schools ive talked to say that they have a cut off of 17 for each section
so u need to get those 3 sections up
and u should try to at least have an AA of 18
if u retake it soon u can fax all the schools ur unoffcial score and a lot of them will just take it like that and still review ur application before the real scores get to them

hope that helps!

Sorry to say it, but those DAT scores are just too low. They are below par for pretty much any school you've applied to, and your GPA is a bit below average as well. I'd say if you want ANY chance of getting in somewhere you have to retake the DAT.

Let me see if I understand this right:

Case contacted you and told you that they are WILLING to put you application on HOLD till you retake your DAT !!

If this is the scenario, then it tells me you have no chance to get into Case with your current DAT but the good news is that if you manage to improve, then you probably have a shot with them.

So you should be thankful that Case is allowing you to do this since many schools will not even do that these days.

Nov and close to Dec is quite late But If I were you, I would do it anyways.
How is your schedule in next few month ? Do you have time to study for DAT ?

I would also reschedule a DAT retake when your 90 days is over since Case didn't just flat out reject you. If you were granted an interview afterwards, it would definitely be in the spring, but at least you'll still have a shot this cycle and not have to re-apply next cycle. Just find new methods of studying and focus on the sections you did poorly in.
