Hi Everyone,
I've taken the mcat 4x within the last three years. My scores hasn't improved
drastically.
1st attempt 05/27/2008 05 07 Q 08 20Q2nd attempt
07/17/2009 06 07 N 08 21N3rd attempt
04/23/2010 06 06 Q 07 19Q4th attempt
09/03/2010 04 08 P 09 21P
My cumulative GPA is 3.5. My lifelong dream is to be a doctor. Would I have a chance getting into any of the big 4 Caribbean schools or DO schools? Would I need to take a post-bac to improve my stats? Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

A postbac is meant to improve your GPA. You wouldn't need one unless your science GPA is poor. Your cGPA is fine.

You can look for the admission requirments for the Big Four in SDN's International Medicine>Caribbean Forum.

I have read in the Pre-Med Osteo Forum that someone heard of someone getting an acceptance with an MCAT score of 19. I would imagine this was a very rare event based on some unique circumstance. You might do a Search there for more specific information, or look in MDApps where you can specify a school and your stats and see how many others like you have been accepted there.

Presumably you've taken a formal classroom MCAT prep class. Have you tried hiring a private tutor?

Do you consider Podiatry an option?

Thanks for your replies! Yes, I have taken a Kaplan course during the first time I studied for the mcat and self-studied for the last three since I didn't want to spend more money taking another course. I have also considered podiatry as an option.
