Hey y'all!!
I'll be attending my state's dental school this Fall but I have been in a dilemma about whether or not I should commute from home (about 35-40 minutes). If anyone has had experiences with living at home during dental school how did it go?

In terms of social life, collaborating with classmates, and having friends/fun, not living at home is your best bet.
From those I know in dental school currently, they really wouldn't be able to get by without a support group of friends who are going through the same thing. Something to think about! On the other hand, I really don't have the social life or study groups I want because I am usually so ready to go straight home.
It is rare when I am in favor of spending more $$ for the same product. This, however, is one of those times- spend the extra $$ and get the peace of mind. I wholeheartedly agree with @PeachDMD 's wonderful reasoning.
Also, it might not even be a huge increase in cost- consider how much money you'll be spending on gas + car insurance + maintenance that you can save if you rent near campus.
