Hi guys,
I am currently on the wait list for 3 schools I applied to for the 08-09 cycle. I still have an extra semester of my undergrad to complete a BS degree. But I'm hoping right now that I get pulled off the waitlist from one of the schools so I can go straight there. The problem right now is financial aid. I still have not completed my FAFSA because I don't know what to expect this fall...Do I just complete the FAFSA designated to my undergraduate school? Am I allowed to change the designation to one of the pharmacy schools once and if I get pulled off? Thanks

You can always update your FAFSA to designate new schools. I'm not entirely sure, but I assume you can include the schools you are waitlisted on in your FAFSA. There should be no harm in sending a FAFSA to a school whether you are accepted or not. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Here's what I found on FAFSA.Gov under FAQ -> Corrections -> "How can I change schools on my Student Aid Report (SAR)?"

If: You have a Federal Student Aid PIN and the application has been processed
Then: You can go to the FAFSA on the Web home page and select "Add or Delete a School Code" to change the schools listed on your Student Aid Report.

If: You do not have a PIN, but have a Student Aid Report
Then: Find the Data Release Number (DRN) on the first page in the upper right hand corner of your Student Aid Report, or on your confirmation page, and call Customer Service to make the changes over the phone.

If: You do not have a PIN and do not have a Student Aid Report
Then: You must call Customer Service and request a copy of your Student Aid Report.

It sounds like you need to file your FAFSA ASAP so you get your SAR, because until you get your SAR / your application has been processed, you can't update your school codes. Oh, and do it online (with a PIN.)

The government sure is acronymble. 😛

EDIT: I'm not sure whether or not you want to send your FAFSA to those waitlisted schools before they take you off. Maybe call and find out? If they do, then include them now... If not, you can always edit later. The schools on your SAR get a copy of your FAFSA in 3-5 days after your application is processed, and you can get an e-mail confirmation of when that happens if you give them a valid address. A correction of this nature is apparently processed also within 3-5 days.

You have NO idea until you've been in the Army for even 3 days.

The acronyms will make your head spin >.<

If anyone thinks biologists are bad, the government/military is a lot worse. My dad worked for a company that worked for NASA, and it was so much fun when I was little listening to all the acronyms when he was talking to work friends.

you should do your FAFSA now.. the deadline passed, but you can still submit.

in 2008, I applied for FAFSA - was on waitlist never got in , and I didn't do anything when time passed and never got in.

ya, I was actually going to say something similar to this... just fill a new one out, and I'm sure there's even a place on it where you can put down what schools you need to send it to...I'd contact the schools that put you on the wait list and see what they think of this, just to be sure.
