Hello everyone,
I have been studying for about 2 months and my math and English scores are not going higher than 17 or 18! English is my second language and I been reading lot scientific article and still find myself struggling on English! My exam is in 7 days and I am really nervous! I need advise to help me get through the exam!

Hello,
English is my second language as well, and there's nothing you can really do other than practicing!

You could also skim the questions beforehand and write down keywords on your whiteboard before attacking the passage.

I have my test in 7 days too and I am really nervous too!

Like others have mentioned, it's about figuring out a strategy that works for you. Don't be worried about having English as a second language, you can get a very solid score on RC without needing to comprehend most of the passage. I've known many ESL students that have had success using the search and destroy approach. Best of luck!

if you don't feel ready do not take the DAT. push your exam back. work on your reading! watch pop culture shows like family feud etc. don't take the DAT "just to get it over with" unless you feel you've studied all you can. keep at it and watch those scores go up!

Thanks everyone! I been practice the English by reading scientific article on daily basis! I am trying to do search destroyer because when I read the text o feel that I ran out time and at the end is hard to keep things in my head but I will try my best thanks everyone

Although its risky, I would recommend that you use S&D for RC and then reread the sentences before/after to check. For QR, there's not much you can do besides practice. You either know how to do it or you don't.

My favorite RC technique is the BYU4you, it's very dependable and my score improved immediately by 2-3 points once I started using it. (Before that I'd just read the article completely and then attempt to answer questions)

EDIT: The first 2 bootcamp RC tests are much harder than the last 3. Just a heads up.
