Hello i m a student
i want to know after completing my B.D.S wat kind of preparations i have to do to get admision in foreign college for further studies e.g SAT TOEFL etc
as i m very confused from where to start i rsearched websites and i want to initiate my preparations from now

I assume you're a foreign trained dentist and are looking to attend an international program in the US? The international dental forum on SDN would have much better answers than any of us, but the main two tests you will have to take are the TOEFL and the NDBE Part 1 for most schools. You'll definitely need to have your transcript translated and grades converted into the US system equivalent. You'll also need letters of recommendation, translated and notarized if they are not in English.

Hi,
Welcome!!🙂
I am from India. After coming to US I took my GRE,TOEFL and recently part 1.
If u are interested in MS programs only then u need to take GRE..otherwise not..
Get ur marksheets evaluated. Some evaluators are ECE,WES etc..Most schools need the course by course evaluation from ECE. So go thro' the school's website for tht info.
I was told tht ECE gives us less GPA as compared to other agencies...Anyways, I got my credentials evaluated by ECE. Go to their site..Everything is mentioned as to wht all documents u need to send them for ur evaluation to be complete.

Toefl is easy..1-2 week prep is more than enough..esp. if you are good at speaking, writing and reading, listening English.Free pratice tests are available online..Try google search.

Start with part 1 NBDE studies. Go to ADA website, U'll find all the info there.
U can buy study material for part 1 from someone here on SDn..
Most schools need part 1 and toefl for u to be eligible to apply. However, few also need part 2. U have to do tht study urself..i mean for schools where u r interested.

Remember, the competition is getting tougher day by day. U just have to be totally committed to ur studies. Its a bit difficult but not at all impossible to get a score above 90. If u r good at combined study, try finding a study partner for urself.

Also, on SDN,go to "Dental Exams and Licensure"..in tht go to "Anyone preparing for part 1 can write in here"..I found tht a very helpful thread.

Hope I have answerd ur questions.
All the BEst!!
Believe in yourself.👍
