I started off weak (2.9 GPA) since the beginning of my college career. I worked hard to bring it up to 3.16 GPA (currently in my 2nd semester of my Junior yr). I took my DAT today and got 19 AA and 19PAT. I plan to retake it anyway. I have ton of shadowing, research w/ prof., and a member of couple of clubs (I commute 4 hr each day (2hr one way)). I attended this symposium at Columbia Dent school. I am currently participating in this competition and a cofounder of this company with a friend.

Would I have any chance to get accepted into any dent school? If yes, which one would I have a greatest chance?

I hope to see if I can get my GPA to at least 3.2 by the time I graduate and aiming to get at least 21 on each sec of my DAT.

I just freaking out. I do not want to go to Post-bac or take a yr off to apply.

It is less a question of what you want to do and more a question of what you need to do.

Well I am not on an adcom but I will say you don't have a very good chance with a 3.16 and a 19. Also, what makes you think that you can do better the second time? I'm not trying to be mean because I went from an 18 to a 20 but what are you going to do different to improve your score? I would recommend some post-bac work and bring your GPA up to at least a 3.5.

Thanks for the harsh criticism; I'll still take the DAT and see what I get. If it's around my desired score, I apply and see what schools I can get in. If not, I'll get some post bac work and bring that GPA to at least 3.5.

Hahaha you are joking right? I truly didn't mean to sound like I was criticizing. You asked for opinions and I gave it to you. You have a problem with it, go pick up an ADEA guide book and look at the stats.

I think that you should just apply after improving your DAT and seeing how the application cycle turns out. Worst case the world is not perfect, and you may have to reapply. Maybe do a post bac... if you are determined you will make it into a school.

i'm gonna be honest with you because i was in same situation. With your GPA and DAT, there is a little chance of you getting in but again you never know what is going to happen. As other ppl suggested, retake (make sure u work on sections u did bad) and apply. See what happens. g luck t u

Spud daddy, I appreciate your opinion.
