Need Help Deciding MCAT Retake

Hey all,

I have recently received my MCAT scores back and it did not go as I could have hoped. I earned a 508 overall with a break down of C/P: 130 CARS: 123 B/B: 129 P/S:126. The 123 in CARS is what really scares me about my chances as I keep seeing things about a 125 in each section cut-off. I talked to my adviser and can't get a clear answer from here so, I am hoping you all can help! I have cGPA of 3.85 currently, and a sGPA of 3.89, and I believe pretty strong extra curriculars. Do I need to retake the MCAT or do I still have a strong chance at being competitive at DO and MD programs?

Don’t retake, low CARS is a common topic on this forum, you are still fine.

Chances are probably best at DO and your state MD schools plus maybe low-tier MD. Retake only if you've been consistently breaking 512 on practice tests.
