Need help desperately, am I doomed??

Hi all, I have a problem with one of my pre-req classes that I just had last quarter. It was org. chem lab and I got C- from the class... I know... 🙁

I already have got into few schools but havn't updated the schools of my new grades (which includes the C-) yet and I am afraid what will happen once I let them know. All other classes of the quarter went well except the org.chem lab so the GPA for the quarter was still above 3.0.. So I called the school that I really want to go and asked if C- would be counted towards pre-req and the administrator didn't tell me "yes/no" but kept saying "C or above." and now I'm stuck here don't know what to do. If I don't have to retake the class, I can graduate early and if do have to retake the class, since I still have another quarter to go, I am more than willing to retake it but I'm just afraid that the schools will reject me because of the one grade. Does anyone know who had to go through the same situation? Please help !!!!!!!!!! 🙁🙁🙁🙁

I am confused... You got accpeted to dental schools already? Cause your opening line you said you got accepted to a few dental schools, but towards the end, your saying your afraid to get rejected...

Do you mean that you are afraid of them WITHDRAWING the accpetance from the C-? In that case, yes its possible, and you should retake, the admission office told you "C or above"... that sounds pretty clear to me.

Sorry to hear about that. 🙁But there will be a way out.
How many schools that you got accepted to and who are they?
Did you turn down all the other offers?
Who did you talk to over the phone specifically? Director of admissions? 😕
You need to tell us more information. Otherwise, it's hard for us to help you out. 🙄

I was not sure if "C or above" includes C- or not since some schools does count C- as "C" and some don't..
would you suggest me to take the same class? I was actually planning to take a lower version of the class that can replace it...

and I am considering between Case and U Maryland... and I talked to the assistant Dean of Admission at UMaryland. Would U Maryland and Case count C- as C???

yes... don't play the "lower-version" card, it might come back to haunt you.... Besides, its just orgo lab (right?), you can re-take it over the summer (before matriculation into dental school)..... And if your school isn't offering it over the summer, look for near by colleges that do (or even community college ~ just be sure your dental school is okay with community college pre-reqs)

A "C-" is what it is "C-" . 😎
I think you should retake the same class at the same university next quarter or in the summer but with a different instructor.
Try to ace it the second time and give very reasonable explanations to the dental school. 🙄
Then you will be okie. Study hard and good luck !

I guess retaking the same class next quarter is the only way to make it up..
