Need Help, EDP Question

My EDP deadline is August 1st, (verified, submitted).
I'm registering for the June 16th MCAT (release date is July 19th).

If everything but my MCAT score is verified well before July 19th, does this leave me enough time to submit a complete app (with MCAT score) before August 1st? Basically, how long does it take to add an MCAT score to an application?

I read that it may take 4-5 weeks to get verified.. does this mean they won't verify it until they have everything submitted (so I'll have to wait 4 weeks after July 19th??)

EDP deadline is August 1 for submission of AMCAS app and receipt of transcripts by AMCAS. Other requirements are school-specific: you need to check with the school you're applying to.

One more thing: don't apply EDP. Anywhere.

The school I am applying to states that a verified AMCAS (LOR, MCAT, transcripts, etc) must be submitted by August 1st. My question is regarding whether or not it will be verified by then if I take the June 16th MCAT and have already had my transcripts and LOR sent?

My understanding is that AMCAS submissions for EDP are generally processed the same day they are submitted, as they get priority. Your MCAT scores will be imported into AMCAS the same day they get released to you. So, I would venture that if your scores are released by the end of July and everything else is in place by then, you should be all set.

some other people might jump in here and help you out, too - but in general applying EDP is discouraged. If you don't get into that one school, you are at an enormous disadvantage everywhere else for the cycle. It's just not worth it.

Thanks for the input, I definitely understand the risk involved with EDP. I'd really like a definitive answer regarding whether I should schedule the June 16th MCAT or if that is too close of a date for EDP

I applied EDP last year. The MCAT date probably won't hinder you. Has AMCAS received all of your LOR's and transcripts? As long as all of your materials have been recieved already your app will be verified within hours of your submission via EDP. As someone else said, as EDP you are put first in line for verification. It took me something like 16 hours and that was even with submitting very late at night.

What is the date that AMCAS says your MCAT score will be available? EDIT I see that is July 19th. That should be linked to your AMCAS application the same day or at most a day or two later and once you submit you would be verified at most a day or two after that. You should be fine.

If not what choice would you have? Are you trying to decide between taking the 6-16 MCAT or an earlier one?

Can I ask why you decided to apply EDP? There are a fair amount of threads around here advising against it. I sometimes find myself wondering if I could have gotten some additional financial aid (schools don't have any incentive to attract you to the school if you are already contractually obligated to accept their offer) but campus choice played a large role in my decision.

I applied EDP this cycle...didn't get in. If I had to do it again, I would not have done it. Anyways to answer your question, my deadline was Aug 1 as well, and I took the June 17 MCAT last year. My AMCAS application got verified the same day; the harder part was to get my schools to send the official transcripts on time. Well, it wasn't harder, but I thought that they took their sweet time sending it.

As a side note, I interviewed at the school I applied EDP to and now I'm on hold. My reasoning was that my application was not stellar GPA-wise to make anyone on any adcom jumping up and down to accept me. My MCAT was ok, but all the other schools that I applied to after I didn't get accepted with EDP have rejected/hold for interview/waiting to hear.

I am still very, very hopeful with my original school though, and I get this gut feeling that I will be accepted either at the end of this month or waitlist.
