Hello everyone

i am a 5th year medical student in Egypt

i want and i have the opportunity to complete my medical career in Costa Rica

i want that because of many reasons:

-good medical teaching "as i hear"

-better quality of life

-i need to live in different place

-need to learn spanish

so,,,,

please can you give me advice about that

i mean do you recommend that?

for me i can learn some spanish before going to CR

but i am worried. its a very big decision in my life

i also need to know about the quality of teaching there, and weather my degree i get after graduation is accredited
to continue with USMLE "for example" after that or not

and if there was any possibility to work there "in CR" after graduation

and the required documentation
and the coast for foreign students

i really need your help

thanks

I would say your best route will be to research medical schools in Costa Rica, and then contact their admissions departments directly. Costa Rica is in Central America, and although it is in the same geographical region, is not really considered a part of the Caribbean, so you are not likely to find a lot of useful information here.

I am not familiar with medical education in Egypt, but if you're in year 5 it sounds like you should be close to finishing. Transferring into a new school is difficult, especially with the language barrier. Consider that your grades may suffer and it may require you to repeat previous coursework.

I'm sure Costa Rican schools accredit their graduates to work in Costa Rica. I'm not sure what you mean by "credited" without specifying your ultimate preferred practice area, as I don't believe there are any global accrediting standards for medical education. It's typically a country-by-country/school-by-school basis from what I've read.

Thank you so much for your reply
but i am moving to join my family "mother side" in CR
and yes i think that spanish is really a big problem for me, but i already started to take classes in spanish
and i know i will probably waste one year or maybe more but still have a good reason.

medical education in Egypt is 7 years "3 academic + 3 clinical rounds + final internship year"

and i mean accreditation sorry for the mistake, and i wanted to ask if it's accredited to continue with USMLE "for example" after that or it's not possible

thank you again for your help
