Hey all, thanks for all the help thus far. Get ready for more ?'s.

I have a dilemna in classifying many of my courses as science v. non-science. The AACOM gives criteria for the classification of most classes...unfortunately mine fall into a 'grey area' and was looking for any input, ideas, and/or interpretations of how I should classify four oddball courses.

PE 443 Myocardial disease and arrythmia diagnosis

PE 441 General pharmacology for paramedics

PE 440 Medical measurements and terminology

PE 444 Principles and therapeudics of advanced life support

My school (a 4 year state university) doesn't have a medical school so my BS Paramedic major, and the entire program (a major lasting 2 years...not just the 4 courses listed) is under the guise of the university's school of physical education, we are an 'odd duck' major. That's why the courses are numbered as PE.

Please note...these classes are not Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)...that is an entirely different animal...only a 1 quarter 8 credit course. These are actually 400 level university courses. And these are also not 'practical courses'...these are lecture...practicals I know not to include.

Anyways...these 4 courses have me a little confused as to whether or not they are science...or what...as the descriptions offered by AACOM don't really classify them. Don't want to include them as science and have them think I was trying to insert good grades fraudulently...but I would like to use them as science (the whole good grade thing) if they are 'legal'.

Any opinions???

Sorry, all allied health courses (including paramedic) are considered non-science.

What about CLAB (Clinical Laboratory Science) I took some hardcore SCIENCE classes under this title:

CLAB 460- CLINICAL HEMATOLOGY

CLAB 464- CLINICAL BACTERIOLOGY

CLAB 462- CLINICAL SEROLOGY AND IMMUNOLOGY

CLAB 466-CLINICAL IMMUNOHEMATOLOGY

CLAB 474-CLINICAL UNRINALYSIS

CLAM 487-CLINICAL HEMOSTASIS

CLAB 479-CLINICAL HISTOPATHOLOGY

I can tell you first hand that these classes are better preparation for what you will see as a physician than what you learn in any undergrad Biology, Chemistry, or Physics class. I hope like hell they count towards my science gpa because there is nothing non-science about the classes that I just listed.
